When endings are really beginnings….

Tomorrow I am leaving my job.  A secure job, 4 minutes up the road from where I live.  Flexible, friendly with a great boss.

I am also soon leaving my house.  Either by selling it or renting it out.

I know exactly what I am leaving… home, job, family, Country…. for what?

For a new beginning.

I don’t really know what it will look like yet or for how long it will last but I know I need to do it.

I am 61.  My family are grown with a family of their own.  My time is less in front of me than behind me.  Material things and a lovely home, cushy job are all well and good if you dont have that ‘itch’ for ‘what else is out there’!

Its scary leaving the comfort of what we know , even if what we know isnt necessarily always good for us, but we are familiar with it, its our normal.

But leaving, taking a new step, a new direction, wow, anything could happen.  The unknown is transformative.  It wakes us up, shakes us up and gives a sense of wonder.

Yes, it’s a little bit scary but oftentimes, the alternative of staying put can fill us with dread or boredom or frustration….so be brave, take the chance and try on a new ‘fit’….if it doesnt work out there’s something to be learned, but if it does work out, there’s something wonderful to be discovered

Hi, I am a young at heart middle aged woman, navigating life , love and hardships like you.... I love to write, about anything and everything. I like to also write poetry. I love people , people watching, travelling, exploring and learning. Having enjoyed empty nest for a couple of years, it's time to get more selfish, more relaxed, more adventurous as I slide into my next decade... Looking forward to see what each new day brings...
